Do you know that many of us don’t even think of goal setting as an important skill, we generally do it without reflecting on it. However, goal setting is a practice that enables us to follow our dreams in an easy to follow way.

It is important for us to identify our goals thoughtfully, and proceed with a proper action plan to achieve them fully.

Our aim should be to equip ourselves with a strong navigation system, which will guide us as we go through the process of goal achievement.

A goal is a goal until you take concrete steps to achieve it. So, to transform your dreams into a reality is to work out on what you need to accomplish.

  • Set your intentions
  • Outline ways to attain your goals
  • Track your progress
  • Be accountable

If you need a tool to help you to set and accomplish goals for yourself, self-coaching journals can be the best help.

My Dream Goals – Self Coaching Journal

A self-coaching journal is a powerful tool for achieving your goals. It can also work as a mini self-coaching session. By writing it out you see the image of what you want to achieve.

A self-coaching journal is a great help in:

  • achieving your goals
  • tracking your progress and
  • keeping you accountable for your progress

Setting goals gives you purpose in life, and they help you to lead your life at its full. Think about this in your mind and come up with the exact goal that you want to get.

What is it that you want to accomplish?

For example, you want to reduce 10 pounds in the next 2 months. Here is what you need to do.

Write down why you want to achieve this goal:

  • To look fit and smart for the sake of health
  • To participate in some contest
  • To attend some event in the coming days

Before you set your goals try to make them SMART Goals!

No matter what your goals are, write down why you want to achieve them.

When you write your goals, whether they are business goals, personal goals, income goals, or any goals you want to achieve in your life… you actually get a clear picture of it and that serves as an imagination for you to make it real.

Steps to follow:

  1. Write down your goals.
  2. Create an action plan for each goal.
  3. Read your goals daily in the morning and imagine yourself achieving them. This encourages you to believe in yourself.
  4. Check your progress to see if you are working according to your action plan.
  5. Revise your action plan if needed.
  6. Celebrate when you accomplish your goal!

Having a goal sitting in your head may not help that much. A good way to start smaller but again, you need to write it down to give it an expression.

Can a Goal Journal help me to achieve my goals?

YES, having a burning desire will help you reach your goals and the most important thing is to have complete faith in yourself and your goals. You will definitely achieve your goals if you really really want to achieve them.

Set, meet & EXCEED

After you achieve a particular goal, don’t forget to give yourself a pat on the back. Give yourself a reward. Once you accomplish your first goal, you can achieve any of your future goals in life. Writing them down and going through them afterward helps you to exceed your goals.

Now, what would happen if you don’t reach your goal?

This can happen to anyone who sets goals. Learning from this situation and thinking about what you can do next time to achieve that goal would be an appropriate response.

Learn what you did wrong and while going for it again try something different.

The best thing is that you can work on your goals anywhere and at any time of the day
